Efraim Gilad Blasts Reshet 13: Moving From Zimbabwe to Lucerne
Israeli television star Efraim Gilad launched a fierce attack on Reshet 13 in a recent podcast, comparing the network's production standards to Zimbabwe and praising competitor Keshet 12.

Efraim Gilad, one of the most prominent figures in Israeli television, has taken the gloves off and launched a scathing attack against Reshet 13, comparing his time there to working in a third-world broadcasting system.
In a candid and provocative interview on the podcast hosted by Itai Segal, Gilad did not mince words when discussing the stark differences between his former workplace and Keshet 12.
A Scathing Comparison of Professional Standards
Gilad openly criticized the management style at Reshet 13, describing the organization as fundamentally disorganized and lacking a stable professional backbone.
Reshet is an unmanaged organization. There is a lack of a stable, permanent professional tier that knows what it is doing, Gilad stated.
He explained that his departure and subsequent transition to Keshet 12 felt like an entirely different universe, emphasizing that professional competence and appreciation are the bedrock of a successful media outlet.
From Zimbabwe to Lucerne
Perhaps the most striking remark during the interview was Gilad's colorful and harsh metaphor regarding the cultural and operational gaps between the two major Israeli networks.
I felt like moving from the television of Zimbabwe to the television of Lucerne, he declared, illustrating the massive chasm in production quality and workplace atmosphere.
Addressing his long tenure at Reshet 13, which included hosting the flagship morning show for 16 years, Gilad admitted that financial compensation and a comfortable personal bubble were the primary reasons he stayed for so long. He also expressed deep frustration over the abrupt cancellation of his show Ha-Madad after just two months, calling it an unprecedented move in the industry.
