Drama on the Sea of Galilee: 10 passengers saved at the last moment
An unusual incident in the northern Sea of Galilee stirred rescue forces over the weekend after a boat that departed from the Setai beach began taking on water. Marine police officers and MADA teams were dispatched to the scene following a distress call.
A dramatic weekend on the Sea of Galilee ended in a miracle and without casualties, thanks to the quick and professional response of security and rescue forces. Marine police officers rescued 10 passengers who were in distress after their boat began to sink in the northern part of the lake, shortly after departing from the Setai beach. All passengers were brought to safety, safe and sound, moments before the boat sank completely.
Upon receiving the report of the sinking boat, marine police officers arrived quickly at the scene. The officers instructed the ten passengers to immediately put on life jackets, and in close cooperation with the MADA boat crews, transferred them to the police and medical vessels. The police spokesperson stated:
