The battle for cheap hot dogs at gas station convenience stores is heating up. Following Yellow's aggressive campaign offering a hot dog meal for 5 shekels, rival network "Dor Alon" has launched a new promotion offering a hot dog and a canned drink for 9.90 shekels.
The New Meal Deal at Alonit
Under the new promotion, "Dor Alon" customers can purchase a large hot dog in a bun alongside a canned beverage for just 9.90 shekels, down from the regular price of 24.90 shekels. The offer is available at Alonit and Mini Super Alonit convenience stores, subject to a minimum purchase requirement of 29.90 shekels, and will run from October 5 to November 9, 2026.
"We aim to provide our customers on the go with convenient and cost-effective solutions beyond standard refueling," representatives for "Dor Alon" noted regarding the ongoing campaign.
Escalating Competition on the Go
This latest move follows Yellow's viral campaign in August, which sold over 250,000 hot dog meals within weeks. However, the low price also sparked humorous social media discussions regarding the size of the hot dog relative to the bun. "Dor Alon" previously responded with a targeted campaign emphasizing portion size, and now aims to capture market share with a complete meal package.
