DJI Unveils ROMO 2 Robot Vacuums with 36,000Pa Suction and Privacy Mode
DJI has launched its ROMO 2 robot vacuum series at IFA 2026, featuring drone-derived navigation, 36,000Pa suction power, and a Local Data Mode to prevent home camera footage from uploading to external servers.
Drone manufacturer DJI has expanded its smart home lineup at IFA 2026 with the introduction of the ROMO 2 series, its second generation of robotic vacuums. The lineup consists of two models, the ROMO P2 and the ROMO A2, both leveraging DJI's proprietary drone navigation and obstacle avoidance technologies.
Advanced Navigation and Hardware
DJI claims the rebuilt perception system provides millimeter-level obstacle detection at floor level. This allows the vacuum to avoid cables and small objects while automatically adjusting suction power based on the surface, including glass and mirrors. Integrated lighting assists in identifying dirt in dark areas.

Local Data Mode for Privacy
Addressing privacy concerns regarding indoor cameras, DJI will introduce Local Data Mode in Q4 2026. When activated via the DJI Home app, the vacuum disconnects from the internet, ensuring that captured images and videos remain strictly on the device and are not transmitted to external servers. Users can also disable the cameras and microphones entirely and delete previously shared personal data.
Pricing and Availability
European sales are scheduled to begin in September 2026. The ROMO P2, featuring a transparent docking station, will retail starting at €1,299, while the ROMO A2 with a white docking station will start at €1,199.
