A dramatic development has emerged in the mysterious disappearance of 23-year-old Eldar Dayan, with his family providing new information regarding his potential whereabouts and their newly appointed attorney issuing sharp criticism of the police investigation.

Eldar Dayan, a resident of Dimona, has been missing since July 17. Initially, police treated the case as a missing person report following testimony from a friend who claimed they were involved in a brawl with Eritreans at Yarkon Park. According to the account, they fled to a gas station afterward, and Dayan has not been seen since. His cell phone has remained turned off.

New leads have since developed: the abandoned vehicle belonging to one of his friends was located in Petah Tikva with a shattered windshield, missing license plates, and bloodstains. On the same day, Dayan was spotted at a kiosk in Petah Tikva in a disoriented physical state. The police's working theory is that Dayan was involved in a hit-and-run accident and has been on the run since. His friends, currently in custody, are maintaining their silence despite being suspected of obstructing the investigation.

According to a report by i24News, the family has received information about specific apartments where Dayan may have been hiding. In a letter sent by attorney Sapir Pardo, the family demands that the police complete the investigation, arguing that the official assessment that he is merely on the run is incorrect and potentially life-threatening.

The attorney is highly critical of the police, noting that Dayan's physical condition is unclear and he may be in poor health. She argues that the police are acting negligently by failing to account for evidence that Dayan received threats prior to his disappearance due to his relationship with the ex-girlfriend of one of the detainees, Maxim, a friend of Dayan. Furthermore, Dayan's ex-girlfriend explicitly states that an individual named "Yossi" knows his current location.
