Two weeks later: Cause of death revealed for MJ, Kris Jenner's mother

About two weeks have passed since the Kardashian-Jenner family said goodbye to their family pillar, Mary Jo "MJ" Shannon, who passed away at the age of 91. Her cause of death has now been officially revealed.
According to reports based on her death certificate, MJ died from acute cardiopulmonary arrest. The document also notes that in the months leading up to her passing, Shannon had been battling acute respiratory failure and metastatic lung cancer.
Following the sad news, Kris Jenner shared a moving tribute on Instagram, thanking her mother for teaching her that family is everything:
"When I look at my children and grandchildren, I will forever see parts of you in all of us. There is no part of me that hasn't been shaped by you. My heart is broken into a million pieces. Thank you for giving me the best childhood and such a beautiful and blessed life."
Granddaughter Kim Kardashian also shared her grief with her millions of followers. She revealed that while going through her grandmother's belongings ahead of what would have been her 92nd birthday, she discovered new things that made her appreciate her even more. "I thought I knew everything," Kim wrote, "but the amount of things I learned about you this week was beautiful."
