Two more young men arrested in the Eldar Dayan disappearance case
According to police assessments, Eldar and his friends allegedly attempted to run over two young men during a fight. The 23-year-old has been missing for 13 days, and the search continues.

News in brief: Two more young men have been arrested in connection with the disappearance of Eldar Dayan. The investigation is increasingly focusing on the theory that he was involved in a hit-and-run incident. Police suspect that Dayan and his friends were involved in a fight with two other young men and attempted to run them over. Authorities believe a significant development in the investigation may occur soon.
Developments in the case of the missing 23-year-old: Two additional suspects were arrested this morning, Wednesday, for their alleged involvement in the case. The circumstances of the incident remain under investigation and are not yet fully clear.
A significant shift occurred yesterday in police assessments. What began as a missing person case with a public appeal for help has turned into a criminal investigation, with police suspecting Dayan is involved in a hit-and-run or another criminal act. Authorities are examining several conflicting lines of inquiry, including the possibility of a criminal kidnapping.
Police believe that Dayan is alive and on the run. This assessment is based on indications received over the last 24 hours. As part of the search, a shirt that may belong to the young man was found in Petah Tikva, a short distance from where the vehicle he was in with his friends was located about a week and a half ago.
In parallel with the search, the Magistrate's Court in Be'er Sheva yesterday extended the detention of two of Dayan's friends, who were with him in the center of the country on the day he disappeared, by six days. Police have accused them of conspiracy to commit a crime and failure to cooperate with the investigation.
During the court hearing, police noted that the suspects' accounts were contradicted by physical evidence and that they had withheld information for 13 days from both the police and the family. Bloodstains were found inside the vehicle the friends were using, and police are currently testing them to see if they belong to Dayan. The primary suspicion is that Dayan was involved in a hit-and-run with his friends and has been in hiding since.
According to investigation details, the group stayed at a hotel in Tel Aviv and later arrived at the Yarkon Park area, where a fight broke out with another group. Police are investigating whether the fight led to an attempted kidnapping or another criminal incident. Despite many unanswered questions, police continue to use all available means to locate Dayan and emphasize that all lines of inquiry remain open.
