American actress Bunny Levine, known for her appearances in many television and film hits, passed away at the age of 97. Levine died peacefully in her sleep at her home in Tarzana, California, as confirmed by her personal manager.

Levine's life story is unusual in the Hollywood landscape. Although she developed a strong passion for acting at a young age, she decided to put her dream on hold for 25 years. During that quarter-century, she worked as a school librarian and raised her three children. Only after her retirement, and her move to Los Angeles following the death of her husband Bernard in 2003, did she begin taking acting classes, going to auditions, and embarking on a coveted career.

Since then, she built an exceptionally rich resume that included guest roles in successful series such as "Gilmore Girls", "Law & Order", "Everybody Loves Raymond", "Criminal Minds", and "Shameless". On the big screen, she stood out for her recurring collaborations with Adam Sandler, among them "You Don't Mess with the Zohan", and she also participated in the films "La La Land" and "Thelma".

Levine continued to act and film well into her 90s, appearing until recently in various projects, including the final season of the series "The Upshaws".
