Left-wing activists confront Channel 14 news anchor outside studio | Watch

A sharp confrontation occurred on Wednesday outside the Channel 14 news studios after left-wing activists arrived at the scene following a broadcast that dealt with claims raised by IDF soldiers and their families regarding the conduct of Arab doctors toward soldiers, and in particular the use of the Arabic language during treatment. In the footage, one of the activists is seen confronting Channel 14 anchor Boaz Golan, claiming there is nothing wrong with Arab doctors speaking Arabic. "What is the problem with them speaking Arabic?", the activist asked. Golan replied: "Next to IDF soldiers they will not speak Arabic", explaining that the soldier must be able to understand what is happening around him.

The argument heated up when far-left activist Alon-Lee Green claimed that "Arabic is the language of this land" and that there is room for both languages in Israel. Golan replied: "The language of this state is Hebrew". Later, the activist accused him of being a racist and claimed that Golan touched him during the confrontation. Golan stated that the activist had entered private property and confirmed that police were on their way. The activist claimed he had been invited onto the premises by a security guard.

The incident occurred about half an hour before the broadcast, after Golan was alerted by security that activists were planning to arrive due to the program's content. The confrontation follows a report aired earlier this week on the program "The Open Studio".

As recalled, the investigation broadcast on Sunday concerned the case of Eitan, an IDF soldier who was seriously wounded in Lebanon and hospitalized in the intensive care unit at Rambam Hospital. According to his family's testimony, after he woke up from anesthesia while suffering from burns and hallucinations, family members were removed from the ward. Eitan's uncle said that when he entered to check on him, he found him begging for water with no staff present. He further claimed that Eitan reported that staff members turned him over brutally, causing his head to slam into the bed.

Eitan's family also raised concerns that the entire nursing staff on duty were Arabic speakers. In response, Rambam Hospital stated that it provides quality and professional care to all patients, including hundreds of wounded IDF soldiers treated there in recent months. The hospital further stated that it "takes with full seriousness and investigates every claim of inappropriate treatment of our patients".
