For about two years, according to suspicions, sexual offenses took place within the walls of a hostel in Kfar Saba, a facility intended to provide residents with security and protection. Five residents in their 30s and 40s complained that the facility's sports instructor performed indecent acts on them in public during his shifts. This morning (Monday), the court extended the instructor's detention until August 6.
Upon receiving the complaints, the Kfar Saba police station initiated a weeks-long covert investigation. Investigators collected testimonies and evidence, moving to the overt phase only once the case had matured. Yesterday, the suspect, a 50-year-old resident of Netanya whose employment at the hostel ended on July 22, was arrested.
The police view this investigation with particular severity, noting that the alleged offenses were committed against vulnerable individuals within a framework meant to ensure their protection, care, and safety.
