The Northern District Attorney's Office filed a severe indictment today, Thursday, at the Juvenile District Court in Nazareth against two brothers, aged 15 and 16, for the assault and stabbing of a 14-year-old boy at a soccer field in Yafa, near Nazareth. One of the brothers is charged with attempted murder. The victim sustained serious injuries and currently suffers from paralysis on the left side of his body.

The indictment, filed by Adv. Ragad Shadafna, reveals that the incident occurred a few days after a previous confrontation between one of the defendants and the teenager. Although they had managed to reconcile and even shook hands, the prosecution alleges that the two brothers later arrived at the soccer field equipped in advance with a knife, brass knuckles, and tear gas.

According to the indictment, during the attack, one of the brothers hit the 14-year-old in the head with brass knuckles. At the same time, his brother sprayed tear gas at the teenager and other youths who were at the scene and tried to protect him. The assault continued even after the teenager fell to the ground. The prosecution claims that one of the defendants stabbed him three times—once in the neck and twice in the back—with the intent to cause his death.

After the attack, the two brothers fled the scene and hid for about two weeks in an attempt to avoid arrest, until they finally turned themselves in to the police.

Medical condition and rehabilitation

The 14-year-old was rushed for medical treatment in critical condition. For several days, he was sedated and intubated due to the severity of his injuries. Today, the teenager is undergoing a long rehabilitation process, uses a wheelchair, and suffers from paralysis on the left side of his body.

The indictment charges both brothers with aggravated assault, obstruction of justice, and possession of a knife or brass knuckles for an unlawful purpose. One of them is additionally charged with attempted murder and making threats.
