Premature baby whose mother was killed in car accident has died
Assuta Ashdod Hospital announced that premature baby Hadar Cohen, whose mother was killed in a severe car accident in Ashdod in mid-July, has passed away despite intensive medical efforts.
The premature baby, Hadar Cohen, whose mother passed away about a month ago following a car accident, died today. Assuta Ashdod Hospital published a statement confirming that the infant, who was born via emergency cesarean section after the severe collision that claimed the life of her mother, Tzofia (of blessed memory), has passed away.
As previously reported, the mother was killed in a severe accident on Derech Leskov in Ashdod in mid-July involving two vehicles. She was evacuated to Assuta Ashdod Public Hospital in critical condition with multi-system injuries, where doctors performed an emergency cesarean section to deliver her daughter. The baby was extracted in serious condition and transferred to the neonatal intensive care unit. Despite the efforts of the medical teams, the mother was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Four other people injured in the accident were also evacuated to the hospital in light condition for further examination and treatment. According to the hospital's statement, since her birth, the neonatal intensive care unit teams fought for the infant's life and provided her with dedicated and complex medical care, but today, unfortunately, she passed away.
