Hatzalah Israel Founder Rabbi David Yehuda Greenwald Passes Away
Rabbi David Yehuda (Duki) Greenwald, a founder of Hatzalah Israel and a lifelong public servant, has passed away following a long illness.
The Haredi community and rescue services are mourning the premature passing of Rabbi David Yehuda (Duki) Greenwald, one of the founders of the Hatzalah organization in Israel. Greenwald dedicated decades to public service, saving lives around the clock, and had been battling a severe illness in recent years.
MK Meir Porush, who worked closely with him, paid tribute to his legacy, stating that he stood at the forefront of emergency medical services in the ultra-Orthodox sector. "For decades he stood at the front lines of kindness around the clock, dedicating his life to saving lives with utter devotion, day and night," Porush said.
Porush also noted the heavy personal trials Greenwald faced, including the passing of his wife and his courageous battle with illness. "He carried out his life's work despite immense personal hardships, accepting everything with love and unwavering faith that became a true role model."
