When questioned about the end of his illustrious career, Ronaldo admitted he is living in the moment. "I don't know, I would like to know the answer, but I don't know. I learned in my 30s to live in the present, so I don't know, but it could very well be my last year," he stated. Regarding his ultimate goal of reaching 1,000 career goals, the Portuguese star noted that while it is a major target, it is not an obsession.
"I know I'll get there, but it's not an obsession. It's important for me to enjoy myself, but yes, I really want to reach this record," Ronaldo said, adding that he would prefer to score his historic 1,000th goal while wearing the national team jersey.
Addressing Criticism and New Leadership
Ronaldo also opened up about the criticism he faces from certain media outlets, comparing them to adversaries trying to take him down. He praised the national team setup under the leadership and expressed confidence in the squad's direction. Emphasizing his dedication, Ronaldo made it clear that his presence in the national team depends entirely on his sporting contribution.
"If the coach or the president are not counting on me, I leave immediately. When I feel I am no longer contributing or that there is a bad atmosphere, I will be the first to pack my bags and leave," he concluded.
