Cristiano Ronaldo's New Chapter: A Surprising Career Pivot
Following his exit from the World Cup, the Portuguese star is venturing into the entertainment industry. Cristiano Ronaldo will serve as an executive producer and is expected to appear in a new drama series exploring the behind-the-scenes world of English football.
After a particularly tough World Cup, where he ended his journey in the round of 16 against Spain — and likely concluded an international career without lifting the coveted trophy — Cristiano Ronaldo is making time for new ventures off the pitch. The Portuguese star is on his way to a new and surprising chapter in his career, this time in front of and behind the camera.
Ronaldo will serve as an executive producer and is also expected to appear in a new drama series titled "Day 1s," which will deal with the world of agents and British football. Unlike lighter productions such as "Ted Lasso," the new drama is expected to present a serious and realistic look at what happens behind the scenes of the industry. Filming for the project is already underway and is taking place, among other locations, at the Barnet stadium.
Ronaldo's involvement in the prestigious project comes through the production company "UR•Marv Studios," which he founded together with director Matthew Vaughn, known for the "Kingsman" film series.
"This is an exciting chapter for me as I look toward new ventures," Ronaldo stated regarding his entry into the worlds of television and cinema.
At the center of the plot will be the character of a fictional football agent named Stanley Dalton, who will be played by Damian Lewis, star of the series "Homeland" and "Billions." The idea for the series was developed by agent Darren Dein, who represents football legend Thierry Henry and also serves as an executive producer alongside Henry himself, who will be involved in the project.
