Crime and punishment: Business owners locked a man in a warehouse
Police in Hura rescued a man who had been tied up, handcuffed, and locked in a business warehouse by owners who suspected him of theft. Five suspects have been arrested.
During an operation by the Ayarot police station, officers rescued a man found tied up and handcuffed inside a business warehouse in the town of Hura, it was learned on Thursday. Police forces, supported by National Guard units in the south, raided the site after receiving a report regarding the victim's presence.
Authorities discovered the victim locked inside, bound, and handcuffed. The investigation indicates that the attackers took these measures after catching the man stealing products from the business. Police arrested five suspects, including the business owners, who were then transferred to the Ayarot station for further questioning.
The commander of the Ayarot station, Superintendent Yahav Siman, stated: "This is a serious incident in which a person was held against his will under difficult conditions. Our officers acted quickly from the moment the information was received until the victim was located and rescued. Alongside the rescue, the suspects were taken into custody."
Only at the end of last month, three businesses in the town were closed by administrative orders as part of efforts to prevent the escalation of criminal conflicts, including shootings and arson. These tensions occur against the backdrop of a blood feud between families in Hura.
