Smuggling worth millions: 21 kilos of crystal seized at the border with Egypt

Fighters from the Magen unit of the Southern District Police thwarted the activity of a smuggling cell on the western border. During the operation, two suspects were arrested, and 21 kilograms of crystal-type drugs were seized in their possession. According to the suspicion, the two were involved in smuggling drugs across the border.

Fighters from the Magen unit of the Southern District Police, with the assistance of the Israel Police Air Unit, thwarted and arrested a smuggling cell suspected of drug trafficking, it was learned today, Friday. During the operation, officers identified a Maverick-type vehicle driving towards the Bir Hadaj sector. Fighters from the Magen unit, supported by the Yoav unit, arrested two members of the cell, who were transferred for questioning along with the seized evidence. During the operation, approximately 21 kg of dangerous crystal-type drugs were seized, with an estimated value of millions of shekels.

Separately, on Wednesday, a police raid took place in Lakiya, a local council in the northern Negev. During the operation, forces raided the suspects' homes, seizing approximately 260,000 shekels in cash, along with about 4,250 dollars and 5,980 Jordanian dinars. Additionally, representatives of the Center for Fine Collection seized two vehicles—a Toyota Yaris and a Range Rover—as part of debt collection proceedings.
