"Inheritance dispute": 28-year-old from Haifa suspected of shooting a 72-year-old and seriously wounding him

A 28-year-old resident of Haifa was arrested this morning, Thursday, on suspicion of shooting at a 72-year-old resident of the city last night and seriously wounding him. The initial police investigation indicates that this is a criminal incident stemming from an inheritance dispute. Police stated this morning that, depending on the needs of the investigation, they will request to extend the suspect's detention in court.

The report on the incident was received by MADA last night shortly after 23:00. Medics and paramedics who were called to the scene on Mordechai Anielewicz Street in Haifa evacuated the wounded man to Rambam Hospital while he was in a state of clouded consciousness and suffering from penetrating injuries.

MADA paramedics Yishai Levi and Muhammad Hazem, and medic Shevach Rotenstreich said:

"We saw the wounded man lying in a state of clouded consciousness and suffering from severe penetrating injuries to his body. We provided him with life-saving medical treatment and evacuated him to the hospital in serious condition."

Over the weekend, a young man of about 20 was seriously wounded by a stabbing on Halutzei HaTa'asiya Street in Haifa and was evacuated to Rambam Hospital. The police opened an investigation and began searches to locate those involved. MADA emergency medical technician Yoed Amar stated:

"The wounded man was conscious and suffering from a penetrating injury to his body. We provided him with medical treatment and evacuated him in a MADA intensive care ambulance to the hospital in serious condition."
