About a month and a half after the car accident in which singer Sasson Shaulov was involved in Tel Aviv, an indictment was filed against him today, Sunday, at the Traffic Magistrate's Court in the city. According to the indictment, Shaulov entered the intersection on a red light, blocked the path of another vehicle, and caused a collision in which the driver and a passenger were injured.

The accident occurred on July 3, at 01:58 at night, at the intersection of Herzl and Derech Jaffa streets in Tel Aviv. According to the indictment, Shaulov was driving a BMW on Herzl Street from south to north. At that time, the traffic light system at the location was operating properly.

At the same time, Elia, one of those involved in the accident, was driving on Derech Jaffa from west to east. According to the charge, he entered the intersection under the protection of a green light.

The prosecution attributes driving with negligence to Shaulov. According to the indictment, he did not pay sufficient attention to the road, did not notice the traffic light in his direction of travel in time, and continued into the intersection despite the red light.

As a result, Shaulov blocked the lane of the vehicle in which the young men were traveling, and the two vehicles collided. The driver and another passenger were injured and required medical treatment, and the vehicles sustained damage.

In the vehicle that was hit were three 18-year-old young men from Netanya: Elia, Thomas, and Daniel. Shortly after the accident, they claimed that Shaulov admitted his fault at the scene: "It's not your mistake, it's my mistake. I ran a red light."

The young men stated that Shaulov's conduct at the scene led them to believe the incident would be handled without a dispute over liability. They claimed he asked for Elia's phone number and promised to cover the damages, but later failed to contact them. They expressed concern that his status as a well-known singer might influence the handling of the incident.

Now, 51 days after the accident, the investigation has matured into an indictment, in which Shaulov is charged with running a red light, driving with negligence, and behavior causing damage.

Following the accident, police reported that no suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol arose. Shaulov's license was disqualified.

The lawyers for the young men, Ben Maoz and Eden Amos, stated: "We welcome the filing of the indictment against Shaulov, which conveys a clear message: everyone is equal before the law. We will continue to act to protect the rights of the victims who continue to deal with the physical and mental damages caused to them."
