Drove recklessly and fled from police: 18-year-old arrested after a chase in the Galilee

An 18-year-old resident of Tuba-Zangariyye was arrested after allegedly driving an off-road motorcycle recklessly in Kibbutz Mishmar HaYarden in the Upper Galilee and attempting to flee from police. Following a foot chase, he was caught, and the motorcycle he was riding was impounded for 30 days.

The incident occurred on August 13, during an operation by Northern District police officers in the kibbutz. The officers spotted two motorcycles without license plates driving recklessly and endangering road users.

The officers began pursuing the motorcycles and ordered the riders to stop, but the two did not comply with the instructions and continued driving dangerously toward open terrain. During the chase, one of the riders lost control of the motorcycle, abandoned it, and attempted to flee the scene on foot.

After a short chase, the suspect, an 18-year-old resident of Tuba-Zangariyye, was arrested on suspicion of disobeying a police officer's order and committing serious traffic offenses. A check of his licenses revealed that the suspect was driving without a driver's license corresponding to the type of motorcycle and without insurance.

At the end of his interrogation, he was issued a summons for a fast-track judicial proceeding regarding the offenses attributed to him. In addition, a hearing was held before a police officer, at the end of which it was decided to impound the motorcycle for 30 days.

The police stated that they will continue to act against criminal drivers and road bullying offenses, with the goal of protecting road users and bringing lawbreakers to justice.
