Israeli Startup ChikChak Market Launches Video-Based Second-Hand Platform
Tel Aviv-based startup ChikChak Market has launched a vertical video Reels platform for second-hand sales, combining social media formats with automated multi-platform distribution.

The Israeli startup ChikChak Market, based in Tel Aviv, has launched a new second-hand marketplace platform built entirely around vertical video Reels. Founded by Eliran Aharonov and Reuven Maimon, the app aims to disrupt a market traditionally dominated by text-heavy classifieds and standard marketplace interfaces.
Revolutionizing Second-Hand Sales with Reels
Users can upload a short video of at least five seconds to sell items ranging from real estate and vehicles to jewelry, watches, and fashion apparel. The platform automatically converts the uploaded footage into optimized marketing content distributed across major social networks, including TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, with YouTube integration slated for the near future.
"We identified a huge dissonance: people spend hours daily consuming Reels content on Instagram and TikTok, but when they want to buy or sell a second-hand car, apartment, or watch, they are forced to step back in time to archaic text boards from the early 2000s," said Eliran Aharonov, co-founder and CEO of ChikChak Market. "We took the world's winning visual format and turned it into the most powerful sales engine in the market."
Technology and Business Model
Developed over three years by a team of software engineers and video specialists—including alumni from TikTok and Google—the app promises lightning-fast video loading speeds within milliseconds. Each listing generates a dedicated landing page optimized for Google indexing, and business accounts can seamlessly embed these videos directly onto their corporate websites.
