This is exactly why Scandinavian series no longer surprise us

'The System', Yes VOD: A new Scandinavian series is always a reason for joy, and in no small part due to the things that will not be in it. There will be no thousands-of-dollars suits worn by a media-loving detective. The heroes will not exchange worn-out witticisms. The setting will not be crumbling projects and teenagers selling drugs. There will be detectives in the series named Magnus, with incredible long hairstyles and beards that give them the look of a prehistoric man, stationed in police stations in cities with impossible names like Sandefjord. Instead of projects, the landscape will be green, sometimes snowy, even the criminals will be blond, the detectives will skip between Sweden and Norway, and the policewoman running the show will drive a Volvo.

Unfortunately, the policewoman in the series 'The System' does not suffer from Asperger's, like the memorable Saga, but is a completely ordinary lady, if you don't take into account the fact that her father is in prison for armed robbery. The plot is also not particularly unusual and we have already encountered ones like it, and the truth is that it is a bit disappointing to encounter it in the Scandinavian landscape - a normative person, a family man, wakes up in a car stained with blood, and next to him a gun and a bag full of money, which likely came from a major robbery that took place that night. He does not remember what happened that night and how he got into the car but understands that the suspicion will fall on him and he begins a journey to solve the questions. As he progresses in his private investigation, he discovers that the mystery deepens and takes off to places he did not imagine. And to this it is said - well. We have already seen such things. Where is Saga? Who will return Saga to us?
