CENTCOM: Over One Billion Barrels of Oil Passed Through Strait of Hormuz

US Central Command (CENTCOM) Commander Admiral Brad Cooper announced on Saturday that more than one billion barrels of crude oil have been shipped through the Strait of Hormuz over the past two months. According to Cooper, Iran has exported zero barrels during this period due to the strict American blockade.

In a video statement, Cooper noted that US forces facilitated over 2,000 commercial vessel transits through the strait using "coordinated defense." He emphasized that primary shipping lanes in the strait have been cleared of mines, and regional traffic continues to steadily increase.

"Thousands of ships have passed through the strait. More than one billion barrels of crude oil have been sent from our Gulf partners through the Strait of Hormuz, and Iran has exported zero barrels—thanks to our tight blockade," Cooper said.

Expanding Regional Partnerships and Air Defense

Cooper added that the United States is collaborating with all six member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), as well as shipping and insurance companies, to further boost traffic volume. He stated that the volume of crude oil, cargo, and liquefied natural gas passing through the area over the past two weeks reached its highest level in six months.

Simultaneously, the CENTCOM commander announced ongoing efforts with regional partners to strengthen air defense systems and establish a new coalition unit dedicated to countering attack drones.
