The rare neurological disorder causes progressive muscle stiffness, severe spasms, and debilitating vocal cord issues. At its peak, the spasms were so violent they broke her ribs and severely impaired her breathing and swallowing.
Despite the odds, Dion adopted a rigorous rehabilitation regimen akin to elite athletic training. Balancing physical therapy, vocal training, and medical supervision five days a week, she fought her way back to the stage. Her return follows a breathtaking performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics, paving the way for a major concert series spanning Paris and upcoming dates.
