Burgerim Honors Slain Nova Festival Victim Libi Cohen-Meguri With Special Meal Box
The Burgerim fast-food chain and the family of slain IDF officer Libi Cohen-Meguri have launched a commemorative burger box, with proceeds benefiting her memorial association.
As the anniversary of October 7 approaches, numerous initiatives are emerging to commemorate the victims and honor their lives. The family of the late Libi Cohen-Meguri and the Burgerim fast-food chain have chosen to remember her through something she deeply loved: the chain's signature burger box.
Libi, an outstanding 22-year-old infantry officer, was murdered at the Nova music festival on October 7, 2023. Her mother, Shelly Mashal Yogev, shared that during their final phone call, Libi said she had been shot in the abdomen. "Libi understood it was time to say goodbye and said, 'Mom, I love you, you are the best mom I could have ever asked for,'" the mother recalled. "Since that day, we have been doing everything to commemorate Libi so she will never be forgotten."
Libi had previously been photographed holding Burgerim's eight-burger family box. "When we learned of Libi's story, we felt we wanted to do something to commemorate her in a personal and vibrant way," said Shirley Imber, the chain's deputy CEO. She noted that the photo captures "a small, joyful moment from her life." Consequently, the chain decided to rename the box "Libi's Eight."
The meal box includes eight burgers and two side dishes, priced at 189 shekels. It will be sold from October 7 to October 31, with each order including a postcard and a sticker featuring Libi's image.
Additionally, Burgerim will donate 5 shekels to the association established for Libi's commemoration for every box sold. Customers who choose to add another 5 shekels at checkout will bring the total donation to 10 shekels per box.
