Israeli Construction Tech Startup Buildots Raises $130M at Near $1B Valuation
Israeli startup Buildots has raised $130 million at a valuation approaching $1 billion, driven by surging demand for its AI-powered construction monitoring platform in data center projects.

Israeli startup Buildots, which has developed a construction management platform, has raised $130 million in a funding round that pushes its valuation close to $1 billion. This represents a significant leap from its previous round a year and a half ago, when it secured $45 million at a valuation of approximately $300 million. The entire funding round consisted of equity, with no secondary transactions and no debt.
The round was led by O.G. Venture Partners, founded by David Ofer, son of Eyal Ofer. It also saw participation from Lightspeed Venture Partners, Intel Capital, Mohari Ventures, Human Capital, and Israeli funds Comerica, Viola Growth, and Hapoalim Equity, as well as investor Avigdor Willenz. This latest infusion brings the company's total funding to $297 million since its inception, while revenues continue to triple annually.
Founded in 2018 by three alumni of the IDF's elite Talpiot program—Roy Danon, CEO Aviv Leibovitz, who serves as Chief Product Officer (CPO), and CTO Yakir Sudry—Buildots employs over 400 people. This includes 260 in Israel, around 100 in the United States, and the rest across several European countries. Roy Danon is the brother of Or Danon, co-founder of the AI chip startup Hailo, who is also a Talpiot alumnus.
AI and Data Center Construction
Buildots has built a control and monitoring system for real estate projects designed to help construction companies precisely manage processes and reduce project delays. The solution relies on a 360-degree GoPro-style camera mounted on construction site managers' hardhats. During site visits, which typically occur multiple times a week, the camera transmits progress data to a system that generates alerts if execution delays are identified and advises on how to accelerate work to stay on schedule.
The alerts cover a wide range of issues, from drywall installation to drilling electrical outlets in walls, with the goal of identifying bottlenecks early before they cause major delays. To date, Buildots has reported a 50% reduction in delay times and an average savings of three months on project schedules where its solution is deployed. Physical site data is fed into an AI system, creating a unified operational picture for all stakeholders, including developers, general contractors, and subcontractors.
While Buildots serves both residential construction and commercial projects such as hospitals and student dormitories, its massive growth has been fueled by the global boom in data center construction driven by the AI revolution. These massive facilities have become critical bottlenecks for tech giants, making rapid construction a deciding factor in the competition among cloud and AI providers.
"Two years ago, we began seeing the first shoots of the data center boom, but since then we have received a significant order backlog from major corporations in the U.S. and Europe," said Roy Danon. "We found ourselves at a critical juncture and have been growing at an astonishing rate ever since."
Global Clients and Market Expansion
Buildots counts among its clients Digital Realty, a massive data center provider building server farms for companies like Nvidia. Other notable clients include Intel, STO Building Group, JE Dunn, Mortenson, Bouygues, HOCHTIEF, and Israeli construction giants Tidhar, Ashtrom, Azrieli Group, and Mivneh.
The investment wave in AI infrastructure has made efficient construction even more urgent as projects grow more complex, timelines shrink, and financial risks escalate. This shift is reflected in Buildots' expanding operations, featuring multi-million dollar deals and clients transitioning from single-project use to multi-year enterprise agreements.
"The challenges we solve in building data centers also exist in office buildings, residential towers, schools, and hospitals," Danon explained. "In data centers, due to their sheer size, complexity, and capital investment, every deviation generates massive losses."
"Buildots is doing for the construction industry what Mobileye once did for the automotive world," said Ziv Kop, managing partner at O.G. Venture Partners. "Buildots' unique models and ability to gather field data are bringing the AI revolution to traditional and technological construction, including data centers, chip manufacturing plants, and defense-tech facilities."
