Brazil Presidential Race Nears Finish Line With Statistical Tie
A final Datafolha poll in Brazil shows Flávio Bolsonaro leading President Lula da Silva 47 to 46 percent ahead of Sunday's runoff election amidst intense political tensions.

A new poll published today by the Datafolha institute shows that Brazilian presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro leads with 47 percent of the vote, compared to 46 percent for incumbent President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The figures were released just two days before the second round of voting scheduled for Sunday.
The race has tightened significantly into a statistical tie in the final stretch. Senator Flávio Bolsonaro, son of former President Jair Bolsonaro, holds a razor-thin one-point lead over his rival, down slightly from a two-point gap recorded last week.
Even if Lula secures victory, he will face a deeply hostile Congress. The Liberal Party has significantly expanded its power and is pushing to curb the authority of the Supreme Court and seek the removal of Justice Alexandre de Moraes.
