Violent robbery in Be'er Sheva: Negev resident attacked a woman in a wheelchair
An 18-year-old is charged with aggravated robbery and the fraudulent use of a payment instrument. According to the indictment, the suspect stopped a woman in a wheelchair at night, punched her, and forcibly stole her bag before attempting to use her stolen credit card in Rahat.
The Israel Police announced on Tuesday that they have solved a case involving the violent robbery of a woman in a wheelchair, which took place in Be'er Sheva this past June.
According to the investigation, the defendant stopped the woman's wheelchair, punched her, and demanded she hand over her bag. When the woman resisted, the defendant forcibly took the bag and fled the scene.
Following the report, officers from the Be'er Sheva station launched an investigation and began collecting evidence, which allowed them to identify the suspect and track his movements following the crime. The investigation revealed that just an hour after the assault, the suspect arrived at a bank branch in Rahat and attempted to perform transactions using a credit card stolen from the victim.
Shortly thereafter, the 18-year-old resident of Rahat was arrested and taken in for questioning. Following the conclusion of the investigation and the consolidation of evidence, the Southern District Attorney's Office (Criminal) filed an indictment in the Be'er Sheva District Court, charging the defendant with aggravated robbery and the use of a payment instrument.
