Boy George Announces Tel Aviv Concert in First Major International Show in Years

Boy George is set to return to Israel for a live performance on November 4 at the Menora Mivtachim Arena in Tel Aviv, as part of his international tour. In a video message to his Israeli fans, the iconic British pop star said, "I will be with you to celebrate an evening of positivity, love, and good energy."

Brought to Israel by Live Nation Israel, led by Guy Beser and Shay Mor Yosef, organizers note this marks the first major international concert in the country in three years. The concert will feature an immersive 360-degree stage format. Tickets go on sale September 23 at noon via Ticketmaster, with prices ranging from 280 to 799 shekels.

A Legacy of Pop and Solidarity

Rising to fame in the 1980s as the charismatic frontman of Culture Club, Boy George delivered timeless hits such as "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me" and "Karma Chameleon," winning a Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 1984. Following a successful solo career with tracks like "Everything I Own" and "The Crying Game," he has maintained a lasting connection with Israel, having performed there previously in 2017 when he welcomed Dana International to the stage.

In July, the singer released "We Will Dance Again," a poignant song inspired by the October 7 tragedy and the massacre at the Nova music festival, which even includes lyrics in Hebrew. Addressing the attacks and criticizing artists who remain silent, George declared his solidarity with the Jewish community. During a performance in September at Temple Sholom in Vancouver, he revealed that Roger Waters had previously sent him letters attempting to dissuade him from performing in Israel—efforts he firmly ignored.

"Israel is in my heart," Boy George previously shared on social media, reaffirming his dedication to his fans and his refusal to bow to cultural boycotts.
