American data integration giant Boomi has acquired the Israeli data monitoring startup Elementary Data for approximately $43 million, according to a corporate announcement today (Monday).

This marks Boomi's second acquisition of an Israeli startup this year, following the acquisition of Lunar.dev in July for an undisclosed sum, and the December 2024 purchase of Israeli firm Rivery for roughly $100 million.

Platform Capabilities and AI Integration

Elementary Data develops a platform for data monitoring and processing workflows that combines quality control, data usage management, and corporate information cataloging. Data teams utilize the platform to detect and resolve anomalies before they compromise business reports, models, and AI agents.

The company was founded in August 2021 by Maayan Shalom, who serves as CEO, and Or Avidov, CTO and VP of Product, both alumni of Unit 8200. Prior to founding the company, Shalom managed cyber incident response projects at Sygnia, while Avidov served as an engineering manager at Singular.

Funding and Growth

Total funding reached approximately $8.5 million by the end of 2022, backed by investors such as TLV Partners, Cowboy Ventures, Y Combinator, and private investors. This capital enabled the hiring of 17 employees in Israel, all of whom will transition to Boomi under the acquisition agreement, as Boomi plans to expand its operations in Israel.

Elementary initially launched as an open-source tool integrated into data team workflows, subsequently releasing the enterprise product Elementary Cloud in 2024. Public technology companies such as Fiverr and Patagonia utilize the platform. According to company figures, more than 1,500 data teams use the technology, while its open-source tool records over 1.1 million downloads per month, supported by a community of roughly 4,000 members.

"When AI agents execute rapid operations based on data, the entire organization depends on data reliability," said Maayan Shalom, CEO and co-founder of Elementary Data. "Boomi's global reach and network of over 800 partners will allow us to make reliable data the default in the AI era."

Steve Lucas, CEO of Boomi, added: "Reliable artificial intelligence begins with reliable data. Elementary adds data monitoring, quality control, and governance tools to our platform, ensuring our clients' AI systems operate on trusted data."
