Good news for residents of the North: New 900-space parking lot to be built at Haifa Airport
The Israel Airports Authority announced on Thursday the construction of a new parking lot at Haifa Airport, featuring approximately 900 spaces. The 20-dunam project aims to accommodate the recent surge in passenger traffic and expand travel options for residents of Haifa and the North.

The Israel Airports Authority announced on Thursday the construction of a new parking lot at Haifa Airport, which will include approximately 900 parking spaces. The new project will cover an area of about 20 dunams north of the passenger terminal and is designed to address the significant surge in activity recently recorded at the airport, marked by an impressive increase in both passengers and flights.
In addition to the construction, the Israel Airports Authority is working in close cooperation with the Haifa Municipality to explore further transport solutions for the traveling public. Among the options under consideration is a dedicated public transport line that would depart from a central parking facility within Haifa and arrive directly at the airport with high frequency, thereby facilitating easier access to the terminal.
Until the construction is complete, and in an effort to minimize traffic and parking congestion in the area, the Authority has launched a special information campaign for local residents and passengers. The campaign encourages the public to prioritize public transport when traveling to the airport. The Israel Airports Authority emphasized that the increased activity at the airport is significant news for the North and that they are working to assist with all means at their disposal.
