Good news for drivers: first phase of KKL bridge rehabilitation completed ahead of schedule
Works will continue on Saturday night and will lead to the closure of the passage from east to west until Friday. Ayalon lanes will remain open, and pedestrians will be able to pass through the southern part of the bridge using a safe passage.
The first phase of rehabilitation and maintenance works on the KKL bridge in northern Tel Aviv has been completed, and the bridge has been opened to traffic from west to east ahead of schedule. The project, carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport, the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality, and the Ayalon Highways company, is intended to improve the safety of the bridge, which is used daily by thousands of drivers and pedestrians.
As part of the works, bridge joints are being replaced alongside general maintenance. Following the completion of the first phase, the next stage of the project will begin this coming Saturday, August 22, at 23:30, and will continue until Friday, August 28, at 06:00.
During this period, traffic on the bridge from east to west will be blocked, but the Ayalon lanes (Highway 20) will remain open to traffic throughout the works. Additionally, a right turn from Ayalon North to KKL Boulevard will be permitted, and the entrance to Ayalon North from the KKL interchange will remain open.
Pedestrians will be able to cross the bridge during the works using a safe passage in its southern section.
Drivers are advised to prepare in advance, stay updated on traffic arrangements via navigation apps, and contact the "Kol Kav" call center (*8787) regarding any changes to public transport services.
