Tow Truck Vehicle Theft Suspect Arrested in Southern Town of Bnei Ayish
A suspect was arrested in Bnei Ayish after allegedly using tow trucks to steal vehicles from the southern town. Police intercepted the suspect when the tow truck returned.
Three vehicles and a RZR all-terrain vehicle were stolen on Monday from the southern town of Bnei Ayish, with suspects allegedly using tow trucks to smuggle them out under the guise of legitimate towing services. On Tuesday, a suspect was arrested after one of the tow trucks returned to Bnei Ayish, reportedly to steal two additional vehicles.
The investigation was launched by the Kiryat Malachi police station following a report received on September 14 regarding multiple vehicle thefts in Bnei Ayish. Police suspect that two tow trucks were utilized to carry out the thefts, loading the stolen vehicles and transporting them across the Nili checkpoint.
Following intelligence indicating the return of one tow truck to the town, patrol officers and SAAR brigade forces were dispatched to the scene, apprehending the suspect. The vehicle was confiscated, and the investigation continues into his involvement in the previous thefts.
