Dani Krichman, former Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Chairman of the Settlement Division of the World Zionist Organization, passed away at the age of 88.

Krichman, a resident of Moshav Beit HaLevi, held a series of public and administrative positions in the agricultural sector over the years. He began his professional career as the settlement coordinator for the Moshavim movement in the Golan Heights. Later, he served as an assistant to the late former Minister of Agriculture, Rafael Eitan (Raful), and accompanied him during the structural reform in agriculture and the adoption of the reports of the committee for agricultural strategy.

Krichman previously served as a member of the executive committee of the Citrus Marketing Board and was later appointed chairman of the board, a position in which he worked to privatize the marketing of citrus fruits. He was subsequently appointed Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture, a position he held until his retirement.

Krichman headed the Settlement Division of the World Zionist Organization. The division, which operates with full government funding, is responsible for the establishment, consolidation, and strengthening of rural settlements. During his tenure, and in accordance with government decisions, the division expanded its activities beyond the areas of Judea, Samaria, Binyamin, the Jordan Valley, and the Golan, and began directing resources to strengthen rural settlement in the Galilee and the Negev as well.

Lieberman: "Acted with dedication for the sake of agriculture and Zionism"

Chairman of the Yisrael Beiteinu party and former Minister of Defense, MK Avigdor Lieberman, paid tribute to Krichman:

"I was very saddened to hear of the passing of the late Dani Krichman. To me, Dani was one of the distinct representatives of the beautiful Land of Israel. A man of the working settlement movement, a man of action, a man of values and love for the land. Over the years, he filled a series of important public roles, and always acted with dedication for the sake of agriculture, settlement, and Zionism."

Lieberman added:

"I was privileged to know Dani closely. We had many conversations during tours and meetings, and years of friendship left me with deep appreciation for him. In every conversation with him, his deep belief in settlement, in agriculture, and in the importance of preserving the land of the country and the people who cultivate it stood out. He spoke from experience, from a true love for the state, and from a sense of mission, and he always did so with humility, honesty, and at eye level. My sincere condolences to his family, his friends, and all who loved him. May his memory be blessed."
