Israeli police have solved a major residential burglary in Beitar Illit after tracking down the suspects and recovering stolen jewelry worth a significant amount. Following a report of a break-in, officers from the Etzion station in the Judea district and forensic investigators gathered evidence at the scene and launched an investigation.

Using technological means, investigators tracked a Chevrolet vehicle allegedly used by the suspects during the crime. Detectives subsequently located and arrested a 41-year-old suspect in the southern town of Lakiya, seizing his vehicle.

During interrogation, the suspect led officers to a hiding place where the stolen jewelry was concealed. The homeowners identified and recovered all of their property, while the suspect claimed he had not yet sold the loot because he believed the items were worthless.

In a subsequent joint operation by Etzion detectives, patrol officers, and the Ofakim station, a second 30-year-old southern resident was arrested. Police noted that the second suspect is a relative of a known criminal who was previously murdered and involved in the underworld. The investigation is ongoing to determine if the pair are linked to other burglaries in the area.
