New Movieland Cinema to Open in Bat Yam After 12-Year Absence
A new four-screen Movieland cinema will open in Bat Yam on September 24, ending a 12-year cinema drought. The opening coincides with the city's centennial and will feature a special tribute day for IDF reservists.
After approximately 12 years without an active cinema within its municipal boundaries, the city of Bat Yam is set to welcome a new Movieland cinema complex at the end of this month. The new venue, scheduled to open on September 24, will be located on the second floor of the Big Fashion complex (formerly the Bat Yam Mall). The complex will feature four screens, two of which are upgraded concept halls equipped with sofas and armchairs.
The new cinema is being established in the exact location where the Rav Hen cinema operated until its closure 12 years ago.
Opening on the City's Centennial and Tribute to Reservists
The launch of the cinema coincides with the celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of the founding of Bat Yam. As a gesture of appreciation to IDF reservists, the Movieland network has decided to dedicate the festive opening day to their families.
During the day, a special event featuring premiere screenings will be held for the families and children of reservists. In the evening, the tribute will continue with dedicated screenings for the soldiers and their partners.
Yaniv Haroush, CEO of the Movieland chain, commented on the timing of the launch:
"This is an opportunity to bring the big screen and the cinematic experience back to the residents of Bat Yam during the city's centennial year. The decision to open the cinema with a salute to reservist families stems from our desire to honor their sacrifice, aiming to provide residents with an accessible, high-quality experience that offers a brief respite from daily routines."
Pricing Model and Special Benefits
In line with the chain's standard policy, the concession stand will offer a free refill model on soft drinks and slushies.
Rami Sarusi, VP of Marketing, stated that the chain employs a unique pricing strategy under which seating in the upgraded concept halls will be offered at the price of a standard ticket, with no additional charge. Furthermore, multi-ticket passes will be available, offering discounts of up to 30% off the standard ticket price.

Members of the "Shlishi BeShlaykes" club (for senior citizens) can purchase tickets to any film for 10 NIS and receive a complimentary coffee and pastry.

Late-night screenings on Thursdays and Fridays will be priced at 30 NIS.

Once a month, a romantic screening for couples will be offered at 25 NIS per ticket.

On Sundays, children's movies will be available at half price.
Additionally, the complex will be available to host private events with customizable catering options, ranging from coffee and pastries to gourmet meals.
