Just a week and a half after Ori Banai and his wife Anna Gofman were crowned the grand winners of the reality show Power Couple, pocketing an impressive cash prize of 399,000 shekels, a resurfaced social media memory has brought back a dramatic piece of their past, creating an extraordinary full circle moment.

Gofman shared a photo on her Instagram account taken 13 years ago, showing her wearing a helmet during paragliding in India. Behind that innocent snapshot lay a severe relationship crisis: the couple had decided to take an extended break from their young romance, and Anna packed a suitcase to fly alone to the other side of the world to contemplate her future.

No one could have guessed that India—once a symbol of separation and distance—would years later become the filming location for the show. There, the couple tackled complex physical and mental challenges, triumphed in the tense finale over strong couples like Assi and Adi Buzaglo and Omri and Dorin Kanda, and secured first place in the public vote. "Who would have believed that you, India, would become such a significant part of our lives," Anna emotionally concluded.

As you may recall, the Banai couple's victory came amidst a passionate storm that has been brewing since the end of the show around the runner-up couple, Assi and Adi Buzaglo. While Ori and Anna celebrated their win, Adi Buzaglo decided not to stay silent in the face of the wave of criticism and negative press she received, enlisting her online support group for a social media campaign to clear her good name.
