Fight Between Children in Ashdod: 13-Year-Old Suspected of Stabbing
A visit to a public park in Ashdod ended in a stabbing incident: a 13-year-old allegedly pulled out a knife during a fight and lightly wounded a 12-year-old child. The suspect fled the scene but was later located and arrested following a police investigation and review of security footage.
A routine visit to a public park in Ashdod turned into a criminal incident in an instant. A 13-year-old child, who arrived at the park carrying a knife, became involved in a fight with a child a year younger than himself. During the altercation, he drew the knife, stabbed his opponent, and fled the scene.
The wounded child was transferred to the Assuta Medical Center in light condition, though he was severely distressed. Upon receiving the report, police immediately launched an investigation to locate the suspect. Investigators began collecting evidence and taking testimonies from witnesses at the scene.
Meanwhile, footage from security cameras in the vicinity was reviewed to reconstruct the suspect's escape route. Following a series of investigative actions, the suspect was located, arrested, and taken in for questioning. A decision regarding legal proceedings will be made based on the investigation's findings. If formal charges are pursued, the suspect will be brought before the Magistrate's Court in Ashkelon for a detention hearing.
