Ayala Hasson: "An insane breach of trust"

Journalist Ayala Hasson has launched a sharp attack against the State Attorney's Office and the Military Advocate General (MAG), Major General Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi, amid reports that the Attorney General is considering offering the MAG a plea deal.

In interviews on the radio station "Galey Israel," Hasson expressed deep dissatisfaction with the attempt to reach such a settlement:

"I am worried about this trial balloon, which is an attempt to legitimize the unacceptable. Major General Tomer-Yerushalmi admitted that she lied to the Supreme Court, admitted that she and her people leaked this fabricated affair to Channel 12, causing an insane amount of damage globally. This would be an insane breach of the trust of the state and the army."

Hasson also pointed to the suspicious circumstances surrounding the release of a terrorist from detention back to the Gaza Strip—a move she claims prevented the truth from being uncovered in court:

"On what basis did they say that rape is seen in this video? Why did they smuggle this despicable terrorist to Gaza? In his testimony, he asked, 'What will it give me if I incriminate them?' He would have collapsed within 20 seconds on the witness stand. Do you think that such a terrorist was returned to Gaza by mistake? They knew what they were doing."

In addition, Hasson revealed details about the terrorist's conduct at the facility that she claims were omitted from the official indictment: "This terrorist refused to be checked, arrived defined as high-risk, and called in Arabic for the entire enclosure to attack the guards. Why was it not even written in the indictment that he encouraged the dozens of terrorists who were there to attack?"

Concluding her remarks, Hasson emphasized that the scale of the issue goes far beyond political disputes:

"We must mention all those who are covering up, starting with the negligent investigation of Boaz Balet, whom police officers despise. This story is much bigger than the State Attorney's Office, the channel that published it, and the MAG. The people of Israel in their overwhelming majority are disgusted by this event on the deepest level and understand exactly what happened here."
