Avihu Pinhasov stuns Tel Aviv with giant robot and flying rhino show
Israeli artist Avihu Pinhasov launched his massive 'Kakamayka' show at Expo Tel Aviv. The theatrical concert featured a 3.5-meter robot, a flying rhino, and acrobats.
A robot standing three and a half meters tall, a rhinoceros hovering over the stage, acrobats, giant swords, and even arak poured over the crowd. The new show by Avihu Pinhasov at Expo Tel Aviv delivered a series of extraordinary moments as part of a massive production the singer spent months preparing.
A Show Worth the Wait
"Kakamayka" was the title chosen for Pinhasov's two special performances, originally scheduled for April but postponed due to military tensions with Iran. When the dates finally arrived, thousands of fans packed the venue, showcasing an exceptionally wide age range. Some attendees arrived in cowboy hats and leopard-print outfits, while shawarma was served in the entrance plaza.
The event seamlessly blended a live concert, a festival, and a musical. Dozens of dancers, musicians, and acrobats shared the stage. The elaborate set design featured custom-built sculptures, installations, frequent costume changes, and massive props designed specifically for this production.
The Giant Robot and the Hovering Rhino
One of the night's highlights occurred when Pinhasov performed a song while riding a life-sized rhinoceros figure suspended in mid-air. At the start of the show, he emerged from a giant 3.5-meter robot built in the likeness of his late grandmother. This towering figure remained positioned over the crowd, serving as a focal point of the evening.
Later in the performance, Pinhasov stripped down to his underwear, left the stage, and rode on the shoulders of an audience member. Simultaneously, a costumed dwarf performer was lifted above the crowd, spraying arak onto the cheering fans. These wild stunts were accompanied by high-flying acrobatics and theatrical props throughout the night.
Over a Decade of Rhythm
Pinhasov and his Rhythm Club have been performing across Israel for over a decade, drawing from their two studio albums. His mainstream breakthrough came after a brief but memorable stint on the reality show "The Next Star" in 2020, followed by his appearance on the show "Happy Place" alongside actress Noa Koller.
The Expo Tel Aviv production represents a major step forward for Pinhasov. Moving far beyond a standard concert, he delivered a multi-sensory experience where music, theater, circus arts, and eccentric set design converged into a single, unforgettable spectacle that quickly went viral online.
