Severe warning to Beitar Jerusalem fans: Violation of guidelines will lead to imprisonment
Amid the current security climate in Europe, Shin Bet representatives will oversee tight security measures at the match in Romania. Local authorities have implemented strict guidelines, requiring fans to present official identification upon stadium entry.
The Beitar Jerusalem football club, owned by businessman Barak Abramov, is preparing for its "home" match in Romania against AEK Larnaca this Thursday. Alongside the excitement of the fans, the event is accompanied by unprecedented security assessments and particularly strict guidelines from local authorities.
Ahead of the arrival of thousands of supporters from Israel and Europe, the club conveyed a severe warning to the team's fans on behalf of the Romanian police: the use of pyrotechnic devices—including flares, firecrackers, and flammable materials—is strictly prohibited and may lead to on-site arrests and actual imprisonment. Furthermore, it was clarified that entry to the stadium will be conditional upon presenting an entry ticket alongside an official ID.
Against the backdrop of the security situation and the high sensitivity surrounding Israeli teams in Europe, security for the event will be at the highest level. Alongside representatives from the Israeli consulate, Shin Bet personnel will be present on the ground to closely monitor security arrangements and ensure the event passes peacefully without incident.
Despite the distance and the draconian restrictions, Beitar expects more than 3,000 yellow-and-black fans to fill the stands in Romania. This includes hundreds of Israelis flying in specifically for the match and dozens more arriving from Romania and neighboring European countries, all aiming to create a warm home atmosphere and push the team to victory.
