Grenade attack on a residential complex: How family feuds are settled
According to the indictment, a Rahat resident and three accomplices threw a grenade into a residential complex while family members were inside. The suspect's defense attorney claims the police have identified the wrong person.
An indictment was filed in recent days at the Beersheba court against a resident of Rahat for throwing a grenade at a residential complex belonging to another family in the city.
According to the indictment, the suspect arrived with three others at the wadi adjacent to the complex. While the family members were inside their homes, the defendant or one of his accomplices threw a hand grenade into the complex. The device exploded after a few seconds, causing property damage, after which the group fled the scene. Following the incident, officers from the Rahat police station launched an investigation and arrested the suspect.
The suspect's defense attorney, Amit Weizman, stated in response:
"Indeed, a grenade was thrown at the complainant's house, but the police erred in identifying the defendant — this is not the man they are looking for. The matters will be clarified during the legal proceedings."
