National Insurance Institute: The service that streamlines benefit applications
The National Insurance Institute is highlighting its "First Class" service for hospital patients, which allows for eligibility checks and benefit claim submissions during hospitalization with the help of a social worker.

The National Insurance Institute published an announcement this Sunday on social media, reminding hospital patients about the "First Class" service. As part of this program, a hospital social worker assists the patient in assessing their eligibility for benefits and submitting a claim, forwarding the request to the National Insurance Institute along with all required medical documentation.
According to the Institute, the service covers eligibility checks for general disability benefits, special services benefits, and disabled child benefits. A social worker visits the patient at the hospital or child development center, obtains their signature on the claim form, and submits it directly to the National Insurance Institute. Consequently, the patient is spared from further administrative actions during the submission stage.
Upon receiving the claim, the National Insurance Institute reviews eligibility and aims to expedite the processing period. In instances where the medical documentation provided by the hospital is sufficient, a decision may be reached without requiring the patient to appear before a medical board. If additional information is needed, the Institute may contact the patient, a designated contact person, or the employer, provided the patient has given their consent.
The purpose of this service is to reduce the bureaucratic burden on patients and their families during medical treatment. The service is free of charge and can be accessed through a social worker in the department or clinic, as well as through other channels provided by the medical center. Once a claim is submitted, its status can be tracked via the personal service website or by calling the *6050 call center.
