Arrived on a donkey, threatened a family, and attacked a dog: Serious indictment against a minor
The prosecution has filed an indictment against a 16-year-old from Beitar Illit, who allegedly threatened Arab residents in the southern Hebron Hills, assaulted a woman, and attempted to beat a dog with a pipe due to racist and nationalist motives.
The State Attorney's Office has filed an indictment in the Be'er Sheva District Youth Court against a 16-year-old minor from Beitar Illit, charging him with threats and assault motivated by racial hatred, as well as animal abuse.
According to the indictment filed by Adv. Masaad Masaad of the Southern District Attorney's Office, the minor repeatedly entered the residential compound of the complainants in the southern Hebron Hills. He would walk around the area carrying a metal stick, terrorizing residents and telling them that the land was not theirs and that they must leave. The indictment states that these actions were driven by racist motives.
It is further alleged that about two months ago, the defendant arrived at the site riding a donkey. He entered the residential compound and pushed a woman, knowing that his actions could also harm a minor she was holding. At the same time, he threatened others present. The woman he assaulted is among those who filed a police complaint against him.
After leaving the compound, he noticed a dog belonging to the residents tied up in the yard. The teenager attempted to strike the dog with a pipe, aiming for its head and upper body. On one occasion, the pipe struck the dog's head, causing it to fall to the ground and yelp.
The charges include simple assault and threats motivated by racial hatred, as well as attempted harm to an animal and animal abuse. The case was investigated by the Judea and Hebron police station.
