Driver Crashes Car into Private Jet at Arizona Airport After Police Chase
A police chase in Arizona ended at Scottsdale Airport when a slow-moving suspect crashed a car through a security gate into a hangar, striking a private jet.

A high-speed pursuit ended unusually at an airfield in Arizona, United States, when a slow-moving driver broke through a security gate and collided with a private aircraft parked inside a hangar. The incident took place on October 17 at Scottsdale Airport, resulting in the arrest of two suspects and significant property damage.
According to local media reports, law enforcement officers initially spotted a black Dodge Challenger linked to an illegal street racing investigation. Instead of speeding, the vehicle crawled at approximately 60 kilometers per hour on a highway with a 105 kilometers per hour speed limit, disrupting traffic. When officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the female driver refused to comply and continued driving.
Police attached a tracking device to the vehicle while a helicopter monitored the pursuit from the air. Upon reaching Scottsdale Airport, officers attempted to block the car near a locked security gate. The driver reversed into a police cruiser, accelerated forward, and smashed through the gate.
The vehicle entered the active airfield while aircraft were taking off and landing, driving dangerously close to active runways before crashing into a hangar door and an empty private jet parked inside. Following the collision, the driver, 33-year-old Liberty Dawn Steele, and passenger Michael Gregory Wall, 24, fled on foot toward the tarmac. Officers quickly apprehended both suspects, deploying a taser against Wall after he allegedly resisted arrest.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and airport operations remained uninterrupted. However, severe damage was sustained by the security gate, the hangar, and the aircraft. Both suspects face multiple criminal charges, and the FBI has joined the investigation into the security breach.
