The 15th Arava International Film Festival is set to take place from November 4 to 14 near the community of Tzukim. Founded in 2012, the festival will showcase acclaimed films from around the globe, including award-winners from the Cannes, Venice, and Berlin film festivals, alongside highly anticipated Israeli premieres.
Open-Air Screenings and International Premieres
For the first time in its history, the festival screenings will be held across two open-air venues under the desert sky. Nine international films will receive their Israeli premieres during the event, offering local audiences a rich cinematic experience.
The Arava International Film Festival continues to bring the finest global cinema to the heart of the desert, celebrating art and culture under the open skies.
Among the highlighted films is "Woman Unknown" by Danish director May el-Toukhy, which won the Golden Lion and the Best Actress award at the Venice Film Festival. Other notable screenings include the thriller "Bunker" directed by Florian Zeller, and "Atonement" by Reid Van Dyke, starring Boyd Holbrook, Hiam Abbass, and Kenneth Branagh.
Special Tributes and Retrospectives
The festival will also pay a special tribute to legendary American director and screenwriter Billy Wilder, featuring four of his timeless classics: "Double Indemnity", "Sabrina", "Some Like It Hot", and "The Apartment". This tribute is dedicated to the memory of journalist and artistic advisor Edna Fainaru, a long-time pillar of the festival team who passed away last June.
