Arab Faction Weighs Support for Post-Election Bill Against Indicted Leaders
MK Yousef Jabareen announced that his party would support post-election legislation preventing indicted individuals from forming a government, aligning with opposition strategies.
MK Yousef Jabareen stated on Monday that his faction will support a post-election bill preventing anyone facing criminal charges from forming a government.
Responding to a question regarding the possibility of supporting a minority government to replace Benjamin Netanyahu, Itamar Ben Gvir, and Bezalel Smotrich, Jabareen emphasized that the party aims to act as a safety net for the Arab and democratic Jewish publics to protect shared values.
Jabareen's remarks align with a scenario outlined by Mati Tuchfeld in Maariv, detailing opposition strategies if the coalition led by Benjamin Netanyahu fails to secure 61 mandates.
According to the analysis, the opposition's strategy involves taking control of the Knesset and replacing the current Speaker to dictate the legislative agenda, followed by utilizing Arab faction support to advance laws barring indicted politicians from serving.
