A festive event marking the renewal and renovation of the pediatric hemato-oncology department was held at the Sheba Medical Center in Tel HaShomer. The project was carried out as part of the activities of the 'Rachashei Lev' organization, which supports children with cancer and their families, and thanks to the donation of Yossi Dahan.
As part of the project, the department underwent an extensive renovation, which included the renewal and upgrading of the hospitalization and treatment spaces. The goal of the initiative is to improve the environment for the children, some of whom spend long periods in the department, and to allow them and their families to go through the treatment process in more comfortable and adapted conditions.
Representatives of the Sheba Medical Center management, the leadership of 'Rachashei Lev', donor Yossi Dahan, medical staff, patients, and their families participated in the event.
At 'Rachashei Lev', they explain that alongside the quality of medical care, the hospitalization environment is vital for children and their families during their battle with illness. The organization has been working for years to improve conditions in oncology departments.
Shimi Gashayd, CEO of 'Rachashei Lev', said:
"A significant portion of the children who come to the department spend a long period there. It was important for us to create an environment for them that will provide not only medical care at the highest level, but also a sense of security, warmth, and humanity. We thank Yossi Dahan for the generous donation and for the partnership that made it possible to turn the department into a more pleasant and adapted place for the children and their families."
Yossi Dahan stated:
"There is one word in Hebrew that can be read from left to right and from right to left, and that is 've-natanu' (and they gave). The meaning for me is that whoever gives also receives. The very feeling in giving is the receiving, and I am grateful every day that I am on the side of the givers. Thank you to 'Rachashei Lev' for the holy work they do, yishar koach."
