After more than 900 NBA games: Jae Crowder arrives in the EuroLeague

Jae Crowder is opening a new chapter in his career. The 36-year-old American forward, who played 14 seasons in the NBA and recorded more than 900 appearances in the best league in the world including the playoffs, has signed with the French club ASVEL and is expected to play in the EuroLeague for the first time.

Crowder was selected 34th in the 2012 draft by Cleveland, and has since established himself as an experienced rotation player in the league, mainly thanks to his defensive ability, physicality, and the vast experience he has accumulated over the years.

During his NBA career, Crowder passed through a long list of teams, including the Dallas Mavericks, Boston Celtics, Utah Jazz, Cleveland Cavaliers, Memphis Grizzlies, Miami Heat, Phoenix Suns, Milwaukee Bucks, and Sacramento Kings.

In total, Crowder recorded 812 appearances in the regular season, where he averaged 9.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. Alongside this, he participated in 115 playoff games, a figure that illustrates the experience he will bring to the French team.

One of the highlights of Crowder's career came when he reached two consecutive NBA finals. In the 2019/20 season, he reached the final series against the Los Angeles Lakers with the Miami Heat, and the following season he did it again with the Phoenix Suns.

In the 2024/25 season, Crowder played for the Sacramento Kings, where he recorded only nine appearances. After that, he continued to Vaqueros de Bayamón from Puerto Rico, and now he joins ASVEL, one of the prominent teams in France, in an attempt to add experience, toughness, and significant presence ahead of the upcoming season in the EuroLeague.
