Sergi Roberto has found a new team. The LA Galaxy officially announced this evening (Saturday) the signing of the 34-year-old Spanish midfielder, who joins as a free agent on a contract running until June 30, 2028, with an option for an additional season.

Roberto arrives in Los Angeles after two years at the Italian club Como, which he joined in the summer of 2024. During his time there, he recorded one goal and one assist in 37 appearances across all competitions. In the 2025/26 season, he was part of the squad that achieved the first qualification in Como's history for the Champions League qualifiers, and he scored in the 3:1 victory over Fiorentina that sent the club to the Italian Cup quarterfinals for the first time in 40 years.

Before moving to Italy, Roberto spent his entire professional career at Barcelona. He joined La Masia at the age of 14, made his debut for the senior team in 2010, and subsequently recorded 373 appearances, scored 19 goals, and served as captain during the 2023/24 season.

During his years at Barcelona, Roberto won 25 titles, including seven La Liga championships and two Champions League titles. His most memorable moment at the club came in 2017, when he scored in stoppage time against Paris Saint-Germain to complete the famous 6:1 comeback in the Champions League round of 16 second leg.

At the LA Galaxy, Roberto will reunite with Riqui Puig, with whom he played for four seasons at Barcelona. He has made 11 appearances and scored one goal for the Spanish national team.
